Making Money from your passion

Photography is one of the most interesting and amazing field where some do it for passion, some do it as a profession.  In those days, Photography was one of the costliest hobbies of all. Right from getting your camera to developing the films, everything was expensive and time consuming. But now, even your 6 yr old can operate a digital cam. Technology has grown so much making life simpler.

Many of us have a passion for photography now and we can make $$$ from our photos. Its that simple.
All you need is a digital camera. If you don’t have one, then its high time to get one. Log on to ebay.com and find a good deal which has all the additional items along with your digital camera so that you don’t have to spend again for your accessories. For $500 you can easily get a mini studio set which will have a decent 8-10 Mega pixel camera,  extra lenses, storage cards, tripod, cleaning kit, carry case etc.

Once you have your kit, try shooting pictures which you like. Develop your skills in the area you like. Photography is vast and only a few shine in this profession. Try capturing landscapes, wildlife or nature photography. Or if you are a interested in indoor shots, then go for product photography or model photography . Take a few hundred shots and have the best in your portfolio.
The next big question is , what am I supposed to do with these photos?

You can publish these photos on the internet to the hundreds and hundreds of stock photography sites who will sell these photos for you. Ofcourse they take their cut off, but without their help your photos would just like on your table for nothing.

Join some of the stock photography sites like istockphoto, dreamstime, fotolia, fotodisc etc.. Post your photos on the site. Each time your shot gets sold, you get your cut. Imagine your single photo sold to 500 different persons on 10 different sites.  You do what you like the best, yet earn thousands of dollars on these sites.
